I am 43 years old and have had osteo-arthritis in both hips for almost 10 years. I am having my left hip replaced in the next few weeks and the plan is for the right hip to be replaced six months later. Until very recently I have competed regularly BE pre-novice/novice level and I always 2 or 3 youngsters on the go. I feel fairly devastated but do however realise I have no other option as the pain and stiffness I have is very bad and I can barely walk. Has anyone else out there had hip replacements and continued to ride competitively????

We have two ladys at my yard that have had both their hips replaced, both ride reguarly and don't seem to have any major problems, although they both only hack and do a bit of schooling, but that what they always did before the op anyways.
