I am looking for a new hat and would like a wide peak.

I previously had a premier equine one which was a good fit but after about a year I found the dial lost its tension. I have champion junior x-air which is a good fit for XC.

I got fitted to a Charles Owen kylo but dial sits quite low and I am finding after 5 minutes the plate at the back is really digging into my head. It also pushes down on my brows a bit and whilst there is no gaps at the side, is looser at the side than the front. I did have a CO skull as a teen and that also did not fit.

Obviously the answer is try different ones on but all local tack shops stock the same few helmets, none of which are a good fit! And the staff seem to want to push a sale of a hat I am not happy in.

Does anyone have an idea of helmets that may be a similar shape to champion xair / premier equine so I can prioritise ones to try?

I had two Champion x-airs, then a Uvex (bog standard one, but I can’t remember the style name!), then a PE one, and now I have a Pikeur Abus, which was the only one that fitted properly in my size in the shop. The Charles Owen MIPS was also pretty close, but the smallest one was slightly perched and they didn’t have the next size up in stock. They might be worth a look?
