Riding hat advice - need replacement hat

Thank you to everyone for you advice on the jumping/disunited - I will work on that.

Now I guess I will have to go hat- hunting! It has been a while since I bought one - not quite sure best one to go for - can anyone suggest? After the recent fall I am more concerned about protection than price!!
 
That is what I have just done. I had a headache for 3 days after last weeks fall.

I had initially wanted the HS1 skull as that has passed the most safety standards, so I presume it offers some of the best protection. However it didn't fit me very well, so in the end I bought a Charles Owen J3 Skull. I tried on a lot, and decided on the one which was the best fit.

If you do x country you will need a skull, rather than a hat with a peak, as you are not allowed to compete in peaked hats at x country now.
 
If you are at Milton Keynes, you're quite near Olney. I got mine from Derby House there on Sunday and they had a good selection and had a sale, so I got mine at 20% off.
 
Go for a Champion Ventair - really comfortable, light and has a fixed peak and skull cap version. The navy one is really smart. I wear mine everyday, and now after two years its still looking good, and not bad value.
 
Another vote for the Champion Ventair, I've had two now (replaced last one due to kick in the head, hat did exactly what it was designed to do) and they have been fab. Good safety rating on them too.

I've found that different shape heads suit different hat makes, I have quite a round head so suit Champion hats, my OH has a more oval head so suits Charles Owen and JTE hats.

Same here!!!! I have a champion for my BIG round head and DH has a JTE for his equally large funny shaped head!!!!

Try lots on, hardly any fit me so I never actually have much choice!
