Riding Hat - Got Wet and Now Smells!

My Charles Owen velvet hat was in the wrong place in the tack room..., i.e. under a leak

It has dried out, but smells

Is there anything I can do to get rid of the smell, or is it off to the shop for me to get a new one (ouch!)?

\phew it does, can smell it all the way down here !! You can buy spray stuff from the tack shop that acts as a deodorant, or failing that perhaps just a normal one, worth a go. Good job its not the summer you would have a bunch of flies following you about, good luck with it,
