I remember someone on here posting a link of a review of how all the riding hats on the market faired under various tests.

Really need a new hat (hats shouldn't be "squishable" when you push on there outsides really should they!

) but wanted to do a bit of research first, although I usually only find that the Champion hats fit my odd shaped head! That said I haven't replaced my hat in a good 8 years, if not more, so I'm sure that designs have changed a fair bit in that time!!

Anyway, back to the point, does anyone know where I can find these ratings? I vaguely remember it having something to do with the injured jockeys fund or something along that line but can't find it using google!

You're lucky - the "safest" hats in the MDIRF survey are the Champion ones (except int he lightweight category where Troxel and things like that do really really well). My head doesn't fit Champion so I've had to get another Charles Owen (which DO fit my head) but don't do very well safety-wise

Zalacca - my sister bought some Harry Hall one and it wasn't actually 'legal' safety wise when she entered a BE event!

I have a Champion Ventair for SJ and just a Charles Owen jockey skull for hacking and x-country - is CO not very safe then? hmm, I've come off a couple of times so far and my head's still in tact (well i think it is?!)
