would anyone out there recomend harry hall elite riding hats or had any problems competing in them? someone said i couldnt compete in one would just togs hat be better

I compete in mine BSJA and don't have any problems. It is a lovely hat, very comfortable.
I think it is the pony club who may have a problem with it because the grading in EN instead of BEN or something like that - I could be wrong !

the older JTE ones aren't approved my the Pony Club either. I've got a newer one which is alright but one of my friends had to get a brand new one for PC!

I had a Harry Hall elite, and i dont like them, they do look good and are comfortable, but to be honest dont have an awful lot of padding to protect your head in a fall, just my opinion.

Harry Hall Elite are not BS Kitemarked so cannot be used for Pony Club. The standard is EN (european) rather than BSEN which is British Standard.
JTE Classic are all now BS Kitemarked & can be used in PC comps, rallies etc
