I use to have riding lessons for a year and a half on and off to cut the story short, i am going to start again,i am a confident rider, and i am confident in walk, trot, canter, etc..but i want to start again from the basics to get the basis right but how long should it take me to be able to be confident, with always putting my hands where they should be, keeping my leg underneath me, keeping heels down, toes in, keeping my head, shoulders, upbody still in walk, trot and canter and learningbout the diagonals again in trot and canter without thinking..? Then starting leg yield and extended trot, i know you can't put an exact timing as people are different but roughly and realistically. Sometimes i think my leg isn't underneath me, any tips just practise, lessons, lunge, 2 point, stirrup less, and bareback?
And in trot you rise according to when the outside leg goes forward, but in canter how do you feel when your on the right leg without looking as i can't without staring and even then!..? Also in trot, should i be rising straight up, or up and out and forward..i know the less your legs move etc..the better? And tips for your riding position in general? How often should i practise my flatwork without it becoming boring so i can vastly improve.
