Riding holidays in USA

My dad has suddenly announced that he really wants to go on a western riding holiday in America! Being the horse person in the family he's left it up to me to check out the best locations, approximate prices, etc. I've travelled around the States a bit but not on horseback. Can anyone recommend anything? Have been looking online but there are so many options I don't know where to start. Bear in mind it would have to be suitable for a mixture of abilities, i.e. me; my sister who has ridden a bit; and everyone else who have never ridden! I reckon west/mid west might be good. Approximate costs per person would be helpful too; if I play my cards right here I might get a good holiday out of it! All suggestions or experiences gratefully received...

We stayed at the sister to the Tanqueverde which is the bellota. Due to a sand storm we stayed at the Tanque Verde for a night it was lovely but I preferred the Bellota. The riding was amazing, its really small and intimate and we had such a good time.

Try www.duderanch.org. They have lots of places listed. What, specifically do you want to do? There are places that just have trail rides, riding plus camping, working ranches with cattle/horse drives and so for. Accomodations can range from 4 star hotel to primitive camping. Depends on what you're up for.
