Hey all,

I was wondering if any of you can recommend a riding holiday in England? I am looking to do 3 days if possible and of course as cheaply as possible :D

I wouldn't class myself as a novice rider, however as I haven't been in the saddle for a few months (9 I think) I would say I'm not experienced either atm. I had spinal surgery last year so would probably make myself look like a novice lol.

Where would you guys recommend then? I need a break :D

I did a western riding break at the new forest which was beautiful seeing all the wild horses roaming free (they did all stampede at us 1 of the days but all was ok) the scenery was lovely and riding western was sooo comfy for those long hours in the saddle.
I am doing another one in sept and through all the shopping i decided on this one as i love windsor and all its surrounding and im pretty at home in a spa hotel too!

Free Rein holidays in Wales, from just near Hay on Wye are good. You can go on an escorted ride on their welsh cobs. Lovely scenery, a very well organised operation. Hint - take a seat-saver for a long day int he saddle.

Redlands Equestrian do holidays in this country too.

I've been twice to Cae Iago - it's in Wales not England - I really recommend it! The horses are all lovely, Lesley (who runs it) cooks really delicious home cooked food every day and the countryside is really beautiful. Lots of the people who go there come back again and again which says it all really!

Another vote for Cae Iago - had a lovely time and would highly recommend it too.

Another vote foe Cae Iago, have been 3 times and would love to go again, but since I own a horse now I find my money gets absorbed by her! Lesley is lovey, the horses all know their job and they have steady types and more forward going too. If you tell Lesley they'll be sure to look after you if you feel you have done too much. The pub ride is lovely, as is the lake ride, galloping ahem...;) cantering through the forestry commission land is awesome. And, if you get Charlie leading your group you are in for a treat, he's a fabulous story teller. :D
