Riding holidays ?

So, I've found two places wich look nice for my holidays : Talland (England) and Flowerhill (Ireland). Has anyone ever been in one of them ? Wich one could you recommend for me ?

I used to go on Warwick riding holidays about a decade ago (eek) as well and had a fantastic time. I thought Janet had a great attitude and got the balance between learning and having fun just right. I don't want to make her sound reckless, because she wasn't, but she'd do things that other riding schools were too 'health and safety' to do, trotting without stirrups lots of hacking and good times on the gallops and the cross country course. My riding isn't an advert for the place at all, but I'd be a lot worse if I hadn't had those summers there.

God, I got all nostalgic and long winded. She might not be advanced enough for you, but Janet is a tefol qualified English teacher, and I'm sure you would have a good time.

I went to warwick and LOVED it for precisely this reason, fun and learning at the same time. I went on the gallops, did XC etc and it really upped my confidence. I did also receive instruction, not from Janet herself (she was lovely) but from another teacher and I did learn :)
Id very much recommend Warwick. Dorms and Food are not the best but still i thought the riding made up for it above and beyond

For a 16 year old your English is very good :) I live France (Normandy) and most of the teenagers I have met here don't know much English at all! Do you have your Galop exams? - I did my Galop 7 last year and it was quite hard doing it all in French, my French is not brilliant!

Have a look at this riding centre -

They are in the south-west of England, in a VERY beautiful part of the country! They take unaccompanied teenagers, the holidays are a mixture of lessons and trail riding, and they can also give English lessons while you are there. The owners speak basic French which you may find helpful!

Hi, have you been there yourself? I live quite near to Liskeard but I looked on their website and their holidays sound really really good. Would be quite interested in finding out more :)

A few years ago I went to Clonshire (Ireland) for a week. The cross country course is great, and in hunting season it's possible to join the hunt with a school horse. However, as great as the horses are at cross country, they're poor at dressage.
Also nice is the inexpensive on-site room and board (private bedroom, shared living room and kitchen, home-cooked meals).
However, plan on a day's trip to get there and back - Ryan Air from Beauvais, then bus to the village, and a taxi or a pre-arranged ride to Clonshire (about 10 minutes drive from the village).
Have a good holiday!

I've seen them and contact them. But it's a bit expensive (about 1000€/week) and I'm a bit affraid that I'll be with french people and speak french ...
But that's right the cross country jumps look great ;)

Is the 1000€ a week for the room in the main house? Because they also have a cottage or two, and a deal with a hotel in the village. Also, if they don't have many people the price may be negotiable (true everywhere - try it!).
I was there during Easter break, and I was the only non-English person there, but if you're worried about that ask.

Yes it is, but I'm only 16 and I can't drive (in fact I can, but only with my parent next to me ^^), so it will be a bit difficult ?
I will try but I think for August, it won't be really negotiable ^^
Where are you from ? :)

I've not stayed at Talland but it has a good reputation.
