my instructor laughed when I said I'd entered this class in my local show.....do you think it's a bad idea with Ty?

We're already doing the Prelim 7 so maybe that's enough for his first outing?

I have horrible visions of the judge getting on him and him being very naughty!

Are you sure the judge will ride him for Riding club horse? (does it say so in the schedule?) They didn't at my local show at the weekend.

It doesn't say they will but YO was convinced they will. I'm guessing if it doesn't say then it should be ok?

Better just check that the perimeter is secure before the judge gets on .... lol

I think it would say if they were going to. Fewer and fewer judges ride in local shows now.

how much do you care about being placed? If you don't and are just going for the experience just ask the judge if you can do the individual show as the horse is an exracer who is currently being reschooled and not yet quite ready to be riddden by judge? A girl I know of did this with her exracer at the weekend and judge was happy to let her do an individual show instead, although it did affect her placing.

In a riding horse class at a local show, the judge may or may not ride. It doesn't always say in the schedule, so it's worth phoning the secretary to ask if you want to know.

ok - think I'll play by ear and ask on the day. If the judge is going to ride I'll ask for the individual show....
thanks guys!

They have only ever ridden in one class since i have had skye. Dont worry....im sure the judge wont ride! (unless it says so). Good luck and have fun. Doesnt matter if the horse isnt really a RH...nor is skye but i do it anyway!! Also...its just for the experience.
