A friend of mine has a lovely TB gelding that she wants do Riding Horse and/or Ex racehorse classes. This won't be at county level for the RH, but may be for the exracer, as he has scars on his legs from his P2P days. Alsoshe'd like to do some Hack classes on her Mum's very elegant little TB mare.

She would like some tips on TO for both horse and rider please - she has heard that for Hack classes, the rider MUST wear a blue jacket - is this true?

I have no experience of any of these classes, so cannot really advise. Many thanks in advance for all answers.

Ive done some research into this today for myself - and it seems that for Ex Racers Club classes (a list of which are on www.exracersclub.com ) there are no set rules...only smart turnout for horse and rider..... the emphasis being on the horses manners and ability in its chosen career.

ETA - lumps and bumps from race training are ignored forthier ex racer classes.

RH generally tweed, shirt and tie, although you are allowed to wear navy but it is not seen that often
Hacks navy jackets, shirt and tie
Ex racehorse - either of the above
Horse has coloured browband for RH and for hacks.

Thanks all! I knew you'd reply FMM - cheers! I know my friend is probably reading this - she reads HHO, but is too scared to post - numpty!

Our main point of discussion earlier was about stocks or ties and I said ties, so I do know a bit aobut ridden showing then! lol!
