Am going to enter a show and these are the classes I am thinking of , trouble is I have no idea of what they expect in each class ie plaited or not or jumping expected or not. Can anybody tell me
thanks
yes, you should be plaited for both classes. The judge may want to ride your horse in the riding horse class and you will be asked/expected to jump a small fence in the riding club horse class.
I the riding club horse there may be a small jump, at the last show I was at, the judge said we could include the jump in your show if we wished to, it wasn't compulsory. A good riding club horse will be an all rounder, so I personally think it would be good to pop the jump if you can.
There wouldn't be a jump in the riding horse class.
Riding Horse, ideally in a pelham/double bridle with a coloured browband, tweed jacket plain hat. Normally, the judge will ride & the horses will be stripped - normally no need to do an individual show.
Riding Club Horse - snaffle bridle, no martingale (some state no spurs in schedule too). Will be required to do a short show and jump 1 or 2 small fences. Horses are generally not stripped in this class and judges should not ride. Tweed jacket is preferable but blue/black would be OK.
