Riding horses - what type?

I have a connemara x TB who I would like to show as a novice small riding horse. Is this the right type of horse? Also for novice riding horses is is correct to wear a snaffle or a double bridle? Any info greatly appreciated.

I think a Conne X TB would be ok.

Snaffle correct for novice I think.

Pic of a small riding horse.
You can use either double or snaffle at novice level. The judge will just want the horse to move forward politely in an outline and won't be too fussed with the bridle. Connie x TB should be fine for RH classes. How about some pics?
