Riding in a bikini

I know someone who sometimes rides in a bikini top in hot weather in the summer but my dad has just seen 3 girls riding coming out of a country park (there is a bridleway through it but they came out onto a busy road in town) riding in bikins, i know its hot but i can't see how that is safe or comfy :confused:
 
Not only would it frighten small children and innocent animals if I went anywhere in a bikini, imagine the damage you would do if you came off, ouch.
 
I can kind of understand riding in a school in a bikini top (not bottoms) but doubt it would give much support at all, personally i would like to not get a tan and be a bit hot but safer like i was this morning in jods, strappy top, body protector, high viz (wore that whole time i was at yard as it was covering my already burnt shoulders :) ) and hat.
 
yep, when it is very hot i will ride in a bikini top, shorts and 1/2 chaps.

only comfy with an underwired bikini and walk and canter only.
 
Not normally..I did once..me and a couple friends were at a BBQ/swimming thing in the summer, and my friend lived up the road. She decided she wanted chocolate :D So I put on jeans or shorts or something over the bottoms and we just grabbed a couple of ponies from the field and took them bareback over to her house, then came back.

But..yeah..I had a hat on, and shorts..plus they lived out in the sticks along dirt roads and the like :p So nobody came along the road anyway
 
I have ridden in shorts but I always keep my arms covered after seeing the damage a lady did to herself coming off in a vest top. She required months of operations and plastic surgery all through taking the skin off her arm.
 
Is it not uncomfortable riding in shorts on a saddle? I had thought about riding in shorts in the school but thought it would only be comfy bareback.
 
I'd love to have the figure/confidence to have the option to ride in a bikini!!!

Alas the only way i get my tan is either in the safety of my garden or out of a bottle...apart from the v-shaped tan on the chest and brown lower arms which are the only bits of skin that see the sun!!!

Joking aside, it much be a bit ouchy on the legs and not very supportive in the boob department and i wouldn't like to be the one to clean the saddle...yuck...but each to their own.
 
Every year at the sunshine tour down here in spain we see quite a few lassies in their bikini tops, but with jodh's.

That would be very uncomfortable, even for me and I have quite a small bust!

I prefer to sunbath on the beach/in my garden. Perhaps if I hacked out with a group of girls it would be different, but I rarely do. I usually hack out with guys.

I would be on yard in bikini, but I always feel YO is slightly pervy old man material :S
 
I have been down the yard in a bikini top or strappy top folded up and shorts when not riding but we have no pervy men, its all women on our yard.
 
I find it really uncomfy riding in short sleeves (dont ask me why, just very OCD of me, dont like that my arms are exposed) so riding in a bakini top would be a big no no.

Rode in shorts all the top while I was younger though, those were the days.
 
Never have and never would! The damage that you can do to skin when/if it hits the road, gravel etc. is so extreem would never risk it. The idea of having to have my skin wire brushed to get the bits out is too much. I always ride in long sleeves too, loose flappy tops are the way to go for me :D
 
I probably would, just to say i had done :D but only if my horsies lived at my house and only in the school deffo not on a hack! imagine how much it would hurt if you fell off on the road in a bikini! OUCH! :(

I'm nearly 50 so no I wouldn't ride in a bikini. I certainly have done so - more than 30 years ago, with no hat, no saddle and no bridle just a rope halter!

More recently I have been known to hop on bareback in shorts and have to admit to schooling bareback in just a t-shirt and knickers a couple of weeks back. As I keep the horses at home there's no-one to horrify. I definitely wouldn't go out on the road without being decently covered.
 
Lol I have done....and shall again in the sun this year, heck, even tomorrow prob if it's sunny!

In the confines of our schooling paddock though....or on the bridlepath which is in the middle of nowhere apart from a few neighbouring farmers who hardly see anyway! Haha.
 
Total madness to suggest such a thing! I can think of very little any more stupid than that other than riding in shorts and getting pinched to blazes. There is no place for vanity in this heat! Be safe and sensible. Lets face it if there was a need for a riding bikini and shorts I am sure Joules etc would have jumped on the bandwagon.
 
Its not something I would do, when we were growing up the girls at the field used to do it for attention only, which is a pretty sad reason for doing it.
 
Not quite a bikini, but today I rode out in shorts and chinks to Leith Hill Tower (which are like a short Western chap). Actually pretty cool! Usually I wear the chinks over jeans, as in picture 2.

Never in a binkini :eek: would scare off the flies! now, theres an idea... :p
Also because all our hacks are on roads... and that could be very interesting LOL!

I will ride in shorts to hack, but its a bit uncomfortable to jump in :p
Strappy top is the farthest I will go; wore one today and now have very red shoulders to pay for it :p
