Can you, or more to the point would you ride in a chambon?

Havent used one on my own horse but have ridden others who have been in a Chambon and others in a De Gouge.
Personally prefer the look of the Chambon, mainly because it doesnt fix back to the second part like a DeGouge (hope that makes sense)
But from what I understand the Chambon is mainly used for lunging.
But would you /do you ride in a Chambon?
Plus any thoughts
thankyou :)

Chambons are not designed for riding, only lunging, you are right they are not so fixed but if the horse raises its head they do put a lot of pressure on the poll and mouth and there may be a tendency to panic, if you are on board this could be extremely dangerous. Draw reins, used correctly are safer as you are in control of them at all times, but in the wrong hands just as with any gadget they can be a disaster, they should only be used to encourage and never to force.
