iv always used a rubber and sand school arena but now havent got access to one so the only place i can ride is in the fields! im guessing its okay in summer but what about winter
would it be dangorous and slipery?

Have to keep an eye on the ground / weather all depends on land your using how well it drains how much rain you have had also how bad frost has been as sometimes grass schooling paddocks can be too hard in icy weather and too slippy in wet weather, ours drains very well so theres only a few weeks out of year where its either too wet becuase we've had days of non stop rain or its too hard coz we've had long cold spells with hard ground frost

I've spent almost all of my 11 years with Murphy riding in the field! We would go on hacks, but schooling was always field based as it would drain quite well, even through winter.
My new yard has trotters so there's a training track in a field I can use for the 5 year old I ride, but this year has been such bad weather that it's been waterlogged almost the whole time :(. This means we've contended with more than a few tractors in his first year being ridden by having to use the roads, eek!

Ours is on sand so not bad for riding in winter terrible in summer as dry s out fast and is then rock hard. And if its all you have you learn to cope. Though i box up once a week to hire a school x
