Riding in Hyde Park

I have not, but nor would I want to. Loads of tourists and things happening all the time, including the household cavalry.

But if you want to, 😀, here’s some info, but it does not look as though you can bring your own horse.

I think it's limited to the Army, police and local stables these days, but your best bet is to email the Royal Parks directly.

Wouldn't be my first choice personally, at least not on a horse that hasn't had London levels of bombproofing. It's bad enough to walk in at times.

Not limited, just for parking. Free if hacking there.
I enquired in April this year as a friend and I were thinking of going.
This below is part of an email I got, plus attached pdf with costs, times, directions for parking:

"If you are coming with a 3.5 tonne horse box we would prefer you park in Triangle car park Parking lot - Google Maps and access the horse ride from the north side of the Serpentine.

There are two local stables that use the horse ride regularly, as well as The Household Cavalry but I've never seen the horse ride particularly busy, but don't quote me on that :). In general the park is obviously busy in school holidays, then there's the summer series of concerts BST Hyde Park | The Royal Parks so we have higher than normal number of visitors.

Please let me know when are ready to go ahead and I will arrange for a payment link to be sent to you so I can issue you with a vehicle permit."

We looked into it but haven't gotten around to going yet as life got in the way.

But we contacted the Royal Parks by email and they were very helpful so it's perfectly possible.

This thread has inspired me to re-look into it for 2025 so thank you for that :) Have fun if you go!

Just wondering who you emailed? Thanks for the detailed reply

A friend of mine did it a few years ago and they went incredibly early, getting there for about 6:30-7am. They did see the Household Cavalry and it looked amazing, but not for me. Not at that time in the morning!!

Have you ridden there recently? When is the best day/time to ride? Thanks
When I have done it with a 7.5 ton lorry I went early in a Summers morning on a Sunday. Just parked up in the road that goes in to Hyde Park by Marble Arch. You need to make sure that no-one parks to the rear of the lorry if you have a rear ramp. I take traffic cones with me!

Also need to make sure your vehicle conforms to the emission regs or it turns into a very expensive trip out!
