Just wondered if anyone could recommend a nice place to do a couple of days riding in Iceland.

We'd be a mixed group of four: two very experienced riders who would want the maximum equine experience and a couple (me included!) just wanting a nice plod around on nice horses looking at wonderful scenery before heading off to hot springs and Blue Lagoons.

(Iceland is a surprisingly inexpensive destination from our nearest budget airline airport, and we've decided to take them up on it this year).

I have been riding in Iceland 5 times (it is very addictive). Actually came back and bought an Icelandic horse (be warned there is a saying about Icelandics - "once ridden, forever smitten) - 10 years later, I love him to bits. Google Is Hestar, they do loads of riding tours and whale watching tours. If your friends are experienced riders - please tell them not to tell their Icelandic guides - what we class as experienced, brave riders is very different to what the Icelanders think! There horses are judged on "spirit" and Icelandic riders are quite fearless. It is the most wonderful place, and to ride at fast tolt through rivers and across larva fields in the most amazing scenery on earth is fantastic. Enjoy

I haven't ridden in Iceland but i did spend a month there trekking through the interior. It is the most amazing, awe inspiring place i have ever been and i would love to go back sometime
