O lordy, tonight I rode in my Dublin River Boots for the first time (usually wear long riding boots)
I honestly couldn't ride for toffee!!
It felt like driving in your slippers!
Anyone else ride in them, can you school in them?
Will I get used to it if I do it regularly?

I've ridden in mine twice. Once hacking - fine, once schooling- rubbish.

They're not tight enough round my calves so slip down and I can feel my feet moving round lots inside. My long boots and short boots/chaps are very fitted though.

Dublin also say they're not guaranteed if you ride in them too, as they're not designed for it.

I ride horses at work in them all the time and never have any issues. I don't ride Louie in them though as his aids need to be accurate. I do ride Louie in them for hacking and sometimes schooling when I'm being lazy but honestly have never had an issue.

I ride in the equivalent toggis. I used to wear them for everything riding in the morning, followed by a day on the farm, riding/doing horses and straight down the pub after. The latest lot have died so currently in dh sno boots til I get a new pair though.
They are the only shoes I can wear all day and not have painful knees at the end, love them :)

I wore them all the time for about a year - hacking and lessons. They leaked so much I stopped wearing them around the farm and by that time they were starting to get a bit saggy round the ankles.

I ride in mine all the time at work, that's mostly just exercising/getting ponies fit though, but they are dead comfy. When schooling my own horse I prefer to wear boots and gaiters/chaps as I have a better feel in them and can give more accurate aids. Also I can't fit my spurs onto them :p

Comfy and all as my River boots are, I wouldn't buy another pair as the quality is rubbish.

I love riding in mine - in fact I do just about everything in them including driving as they are soooo comfy!

Took a while to get used to them as I found them quite chunky and had to make sure my stirrups were wide enough to not cause a safety issue!

Best boots I have owned and very reasonable price :)

I ride in mine, but then I only trail ride with western tack so it isn't really counted as riding. Never had a problem with them, I certainly wouldn't use my riding boots. They are only for hunting and parties.
