Riding in the Dark?????

I'd never ride on the road in the dark... far too dangerous. Even if you think you're well lit up some idiot driver will manage not to see you. People's driving skills seem to deteriorate when the sun goes down.

If I just had to cross a road to get somewhere off road then I'd probably risk that if I had to...

I guess I'm lucky in that I can ride during the day. It is a nightmare in winter if you don't have access to a floodlit school.

so would you ride after dark if it were off road, i.e. round a farm like we have where there are no cars? I'm interested to see who would as I'm not sure but would really like to contnue hacking through winter during the week.

If it's off road and you're taking a route you know well then I don't see a problem. I wouldn't go exploring any new tracks in the dark
