Riding in the rain - grrrrrr

Rode in the most torrential downpour this morning as it was forecast all day. Just as I get back on the yard - IT STOPPED!!!!!!! Too late, we were saturated! Anyone else ride in that terrible rain this morning?

I've been caught in it the last two days, my arthritis is killing me now, so nooooo way am I doing it again today

I'm just about to go and play with my baby in the school.
Thought I may free school over some jumps!!!
Out comes all the water proof gear!!!

Went out at 10.30, cos my daughter wanted to ride her mares daughter, and we had arranged it with her owner. Went out for 2 hours and I'm still not warmed up again. Really nice though for mother and daughter to go out on mother and daughter!!

Yes, I schooled in the rain this lunchtime. Strangely I quite enjoy it now and then. But it did cease just as I dismounted!

Rain's on and off here all day - I am waiting until the show at the yard finishes and I can get indoors with my drippy horsey!

Worst thing was, I have one of those full length rain coats with the leg straps but the rain was so hard I still got wet! Oh well, at least he's been out.

I have one of those but it doesn't quite meet the tops of my wellies/ riding boots when on foot, so I end up with soggy knees...... must get a longer one!!

I rode in the rain today and had a wonderful schooling session. The only downside is that it has taken me all day ro get warm again

Didn't venture out (coward) but one has lost shoe and very flat footed and one has been kicked again and slightly lame.

Went to check on them tonight and the TOUGH one was shivvering in field...

got him down rubbed up with towel and he now has med weight on

- this weather is pi**ing me off, costa blanca heat and then freezing rain?? Have all yours got rugs on still? My two are the only ones at our yard the rest are bare?

My horse wear a thin l/w turnout during the day (in this rain). Normally he is out without one at all when weather ok. Then a thin fleece overnight when stabled.

I had a good excuse, merlins back is sore again so no need to get wet!!!

I turned him out in a lightweight so his back doesnt get worse (not sure if the rain would affect this) and had a day off

this will be followed by another couple of days off till the back lady comes on tuesday.
