That as you trotted along you were pelted with snowballs from your horses feet???

I rode my 4yo TB yesterday for the first time in ages, she had spent the last 3 weeks in, only going out for about 10-20 mins when the weather allowed (which it didnt really!) I have only managed to ride her a handfull of times due to the stupid snow which is covering our arena.

So yesterday I thought bugger it im going to ride round the farm. Baby horse (who is only out of racing since late July) was awesome esp as every time I trotted, each stride she flicked the snow out of her hooves which flew and banged either into my leg or her sides!!! It was better in canter as they flicked right out right past her head!!!

Bless her, what a good baby for not flooring me within the first 5 strides!!!

Did anyone else find this???

Lasy year when we had much more snow I rode in school as it wasn't frozen underneath. Was getting lumps of ice like bullets flying past my ears, and both my mares (even after no turnout and couple of days off) were fab about it.

Don't know why though (normally spook at their own shadows
