Riding in trainers....

No I dont but if my step dad or bro are up an want a little ride they do, but they only walk really.

My OH leaned to ride for the first month in trainers until he got some boots.

I learned to ride myself in trainers for the first few months. It wouldnt feel right now though!

I always used to ride in trainers as found boots restricting for my ankles, (cannot for the life of me ride in long boots!) but now i don't think i could ride in anything other than my ariats !

I wear normal trainers if I go bareback, and have got some riding trainers which are fantastic over the summer when I go for long hacks. I wear boots for schooling though as I need the spur rests

No way would I ride in trainers....once saw a girl who's foot got caught in the iron, and she came off, being dragged beside the horse, she was coming towards us on a bridleway,we had to turn our horses sideways to stop it bolting off down the path......and this girl was one that we came across from another yard in the area that thought she knew it all......luckily only suffered bad bruising and a dented ego,if we had not been there, she would have ended up on a busy road *shudders* and at 14 she thought it cool to ride in trainers, after that when we passed her she wore joddy boots...and I have been dragged by having my foot caught in the iron......not nice at 12 years of age,and I had boots on!

I do after i have been to work or if i am going to be walking and riding (me and my mum one horse lol) as my boots rub it i am walking, and like someone else said it gives you more flexibility. I know its dangerous but i haven't managed to find a comfy cheap alternative

No, I wouldn't and I hate seeing others do it. Not too happy with people riding in old wellies either.

Yep, I do all the time, or in *shock horror* wellies. I just don't see the problem with it - ridden in them for years and not planning on stopping.

I don't give a stuff if I look chavvy.

I do ride in trainers sometimes in the summer, but I'm safe because I use cage toe flexi stirrups, so my feet can't get caught. But normally stout boots, because I don't really think it's a good idea to be handling horses in trainers.
