Does anyone know any good ones?

Looking for an understanding instructor that is good with novice/nervous types but that is good enough to help horse and rider progress with flatwork/dressage.

I can recommend either of the instructors at high plains. Have a look at www.high-plains.co.uk.

I keep mygirl there and use the instructors on a weekly basis. I am a slightly nervous type and i find them excellant.

Im not sure if that would be too far for you, but it is easy to get to as its 5 mins of the A68.

If its too far let me know and i will try and think of more closer to you.

I have always taken my horses to instructors but i will have a think about ones to come to yourself!!

however if you have/can get transport, high plains is well worth a trip!!

Hi there, I have an instructor who comes to me and she is brilliant, she worked for a large school in Darlington for about 16 years but is now freelance and also works fittening hunters etc. She teaches both novice/nervous riders right up to competitors. I cant recommend her highly enough, she has recently got me jumping again after I lost my nerve about 10 years ago, and is so patient and understanding its untrue! Anyway pm me if you want her name and numbers, cheers Jayne x p.s. she is based in Newton Aycliffe but is quite willing to travel x

Hi, I know and use 3 different instructors in Durham who will come out to the client. They are all supportive and sympathetic, but also, crucially technically very good! I have ended up with 3 because I had one, then took part in a couple of group lessons with another and a couple of the things she concentrated on were useful, so I had a private lesson with her and liked her style. I find that both of these are correct and don't contradict each other but tend to concentrate in different bits!

Then the third one is a list 4 dressage judge who used to teach me. Then I had some horse problems a few years ago, didn't have lessons for a while and lost touch. As I'm doing my first ever dressage test (tomorrow actually), I contacted her for more of a formal test training lesson and have been to her place a couple of times (although she will come out). Now I'm totally spoilt for choice
