Riding lesson update

Hi all, its a bit late because my internet went down, but for those who asked and gave me support before my first riding lesson in 5 years...

it was AMAZING!!!!!!!!

my third is in 8 days and counting and its all coming back at such a rate! and after my first lesson the instructors words were ''well you can definitley ride'' i have been grinning like an idiot so much my face hurts lol!!!

And i spent the day with my the pink one on saturday and got to boss her about and have a lunge and she was wonderful!!!

Excellent, I knew you'd be fine. I'm really pleased for you.

Someone told me a while ago that it's like riding a bicycle and you don't forget. That is obviously true for you.

Just booked a riding lesson for the first time in about 10 years! I have decided to get taught properly. I learnt years ago in the days where you just tried to stay on, led off another horse, no hats etc etc. I even then as a teenager taught others to ride(scary yes) It was only when my sons had proper lessons that I discovered all the things my horse could do if asked to.

I have decided I need correction therapy. But good for you, glad to hear of the enjoyment good fun!

good luck indie999. one thing though, leave a couple of days break between yor first and second or have the second the next day, you will be SO sore. i couldnt walk for a day!!!

I know what you mean, my instructor is so thorough, and im impressed she noticed that i need my right stirrup one hole higher but tried lengthening exercises first. I was knackered but so impressed with what we achieved, and everything began to click into place and i remembered things i thought were long gone.

I did make a couple of mistakes, first lesson i forgot how to mount/dismount *rolly eyes because i must have done it a million times! and forgot how to keep him in until all of a sudden my leg just went on and i was remembering how to change leg and check strides and and OMG i could talk about it all day. CHUFFED TO BITS!!!

cant wait till the next one, my feedback was so positive and i got all the 'you have a fab natural seat-you can definitely ride'' comments i used to get. she kept saying how natural my seat is and how i was doing so well (i know shes meant to be positive but it was genuine).
