Hello,
Im a novice rider who started taking riding lessons in september 2010,
I really love it! Im based near Sudbury Suffolk in the Village of Long Melford. Unfortunatly my riding instructor has had to stop giving lessons as she cant afford the insurence and Im having trouble finding anyone. Im seventeen years old, and would prefer one to one lessons, as if i take group lessons I would be worried I was a lot older than most people in the group due to my inexperience!
I dont have my own horse unfortunatly!

If you know of anyone that could help, Please get in touch!

Thankyou, Abigail.

hI Abigail, sorry, can't help with recommending an RI, but welcome to the forum anyway. I grew up in Suffolk, so your post caught my eye. Lovely county.

Hi Abigail. Welcome to H & H.

I work near Long Melford and have tried to find a good riding school/instructor nearby, but to no avail. There is a RS in Sudbury but I have not been able to find out much about it. So I'm currently riding at a stables nearer where I live in Essex.

Sorry I can't be of more help!

I can really recomend Newton Hall its a little bit of a travel I live near you (hedingham) and for quality I travel there for lessons (i do have my own horse though so only go occasionally) please let me know if you would like any more info

Hi Abigail,

I live in Sudbury myself, small world!!! My daughter recently started riding (she was 4 in January). When I started looking around for somewhere for her to learn I couldn't find anyone with anything good to say about the one in Sudbury unfortunately as we would be able to walk there for Issy's lessons! I haven't been there myself so can't really pass any judgement.

Issy goes to a riding school in Preston St Mary (Nr Lavenham), Swifts Manor. She seems to love it there, but not sure what it would be like for older/more experienced people. I go out hacking from there every few weeks to get my horsey fix until I'm able to get my own horse (hopefully next year!!) Swifts is a Pony Club centre, not entirely sure what that means except, now that Issy has joined the Pony Club she gets £3 off each lesson!

Oh dear! Ive just booked a lesson in the sudbury one!
Well i will have to see what its like!!!
I was thinking about preston st mary, although I have to catch buses at the miniute so its quite far away! thanks anyway though :)
