Hi All,

I live in Whaplode (nr Holbeach) and i'm looking for a riding school within 10 mile radius

I did ride up to the age of 11 i then moved here and stopped...i'm now 22 and want to get back into riding. I think i have forgotten most things i knew (except the injuries lol) so i would be starting as a beginner and would prefer private lessons to start with as i'm nervous about starting again.

I'm also wanting a school that will be able to cater for my daughter when she is old enough (she only 14 months at the mo) by the way does anyone know what age schools will take kids on to learn??

Does anybody know of any good schools / instructors??

Thanks

Kimmi

Broadgate Stables in Weston Hills is excellent - I first started there a few months ago, having had a five year break from riding due to nerves, and my confidence has soared since then. I help out there a lot too, so I get to spend loads of time with the horses and sometimes get free lessons in return, it's brilliant.

They're all fully licensed and insured and everything, currently in the process of applying for BHS approval. Let me know if you want the phone number and I'll PM it to you.

Edited to add: Children can start riding lessons at the age of four, so your daughter will have a bit of a wait, but they do very good, fun lessons for kids and have some lovely little ponies for when she does start.

Oh brilliant Thanks!! i moved to Whaplode and just stopped point blank and i too am now nervous with horses in general. By the time my daughter starts riding i want to be a competent rider.

What sort of prices do Broadgate charge?? and would i need my own boots and hat?

I was hoping for something close by, my hubby works at broadgate homes so i can kick him off to work and go riding lol

ooo our horse went there I think!

Do you know how Flanners is doing? great big soppy 18.1hh liver chestnut irish....

You could also try Meadowbrook Stables in Sutton St James, Sam is really good, brilliant with nervous riders, and the horses are really well schooled. She has a website, not sure what it is but if you google it you'll find it!! They have all sorts of competitions there too for when you're brave enough to have a go!!
