Hi, can anyone recommend somewhere for riding lessons please? I am a long-time horse owner, with a semi-retired horse, so can't use him. I want to do flat-work, and try and step up a level, I did bring-on my own horse many years ago, with much help, so have the basics. I had a quick search and can't find anywhere local.

Any ideas welcome!

Thanks :D

Bourne Vale Stables is excellent. I have been having a lesson there every week for the last 2 months. Really nice horses and good instruction. Not too far from you I wouldn't think.

Theres Summerhous Equestrian Centre, I have never had a riding lesson ther ebut have compted there quite a lot, they have a big range of horses aswell, from ones which compete at a high level to you safe cobs. Might be a bit far for you but is just off the motorway.

Might also be worth trying Prescott EC, nr Shrewsbury. They have a variety of horses, my friend was telling me the other day that she had super lessons on two dressage schoolmasters.

I have lessons with Hannah Lloyd, Kemberton Riding stables in Shropshire and I would reccomend her, she is a very good flatwork instructor and helps you get your horse going really nicely :D when I first went there I had it in my head that you ahd to saw to get a horse on an outline but now I can get Chalky going in a nice outline with no sawing involved :p Ahe is also a good jump instructor if you decided you wanted to do some jumping :)

Ahe charged £20 an hour, pm me if you want her number or anything :D

But if you want nice horses I'd reccomend the Wyke in Shifnal, Shropshire, they also have good instructors but they have more horses and some really nice ones ;)
