Riding Lessons - who is the earliest and or latest on here?

I've not had lessons at that time (but I am at work for 7.30am) but I know last winter when my instructor exercised my ned for me she did him at 6am a couple of times! Mad mad woman but fab with it! I've done lessons at 9pm tho!

Cream crackered the day after as I also had a half hour drive home in the wagon, put ned to bed then go home and sleeeeeeeeep

Have had lessons at 8pm- not mad, or sad instructor- just very, very busy!

Have also left the yard with the lorry at 6am for an XC lesson (to be fair the place we were going was 2hrs away!).

I was thinking about this the other day, I think the best time of day for me to have a lesson during the week would be before work - so 6.30 for 30 mins would be good ...but not sure I know anyone mad enough. After work i'm cream crackered.

My sister used to have lessons at 5.30am when she was a groom (along time ago) - her ODR boss used to be an early bird and I remember staying in a hotel with my parents one weekend visiting her and getting up at 5 to go and see her lesson!! Now that was barking mad!!

My daughter had her weekly lesson at 8:30am on a Saturday all through last winter and she was only 6 years old at the time....... One sat not long after last Christmas it was -7c when we arrived at the stables and she rode for an hour...... She's keen but I sat and watched!!

I always feel so sick if i am up any earlier than 5am - in my previous life i used to catch a Brussels flight most Mondays and had to be up for 4 am and i was pretty useless until i landed in Brussels.

My "gag" reflex goes into overdrive and on Tue this week i was really being pressed to doing - centre line then leg yeild to canter transitions and was I struggling !! I was almost sick on the poor horse.

I was told to get on with it - i did - but boy did i feel rough.

Over summer i had lessons at 7am 4 times a week (my boy needed intence schooling) then i'd go to work for 9am work till 5pm and ride my other boy.. i was tired alot but truth be told i loved it! i think im a better rider in the morning when im fresh, if i ride after work i find i take out my frustration of the day out on the horse and its not fair.

I found that by riding at 6am or 6.30 - especially if you are a bit nervous helps - as by the time the alarm has gone off, your out of bed, you are tacked up and riding before you can talk yourself out of it.
