Riding on Christmas Day

My boys will get the day off. Not because I wouldn't love to ride out covered in tinsel but someone has to cook the Christmas lunch & if I don't do it it'll be cheese on toast!

We too hope to ride on Christmas Day - miss the hot chocolate and shortcake from the post above, just a gentle hack around Holbrook for us - Ice and Snow permitting

wow you are close to us! That picture I just posted was taken in Duffield! We use to hack from the the livery yard on the A6 opposite the fire station.

I'm was hoping to go for a hack Christmas morning, weather permitting. The problem is my mare can be a bit of a handful and having not been able to ride her for a month i'm beginning to think perhaps its not going to be quite a good idea!

Also, i imagine all the kiddies will be roaring about with there new toys and she might deposit me in a driveway somewhere! :p

i really wanted to this year with my little cousin and i was gonna wear an xmas hat over my riding hat and put tinsel on my pony but there was too much snow to ride :(

Next year when we dont have to go to the inlaws im gonna be tinseled up to the hilt (if my mare will allow it!) and there will be antlers and santa hats etc and we will go for a trundle around the lanes......well hopefully, providing snow/ice dont put pay to it or my attempt at persuading the family to have xmas dinner in the evening doesnt fail ;-)
