I'm looking for any advice/help/suggestions about riding on Holkham Beach.

We are hoping to go this coming Monday (5th). Ideally we'd like to be riding late afternoon/early evening but I'm not sure that will be possible looking at tide times?

From what I can see, low tide that day is around 10:30-11:00 and I've been advised by someone else, that it is ok to ride 3 hours either side of that?

Another person has assured me tide times aren't an issue at Holkham as even at high tide there is plenty of beach/sand to ride on?

Is anyone able to confirm how the tides affect Holkham and if there are any other restrictions on timings for exercising horses there?

I'm led to believe the parking is quite accessible and obvious but any other words of wisdom from people that have used the beach would be much appreciated!! Thanks!!

Following with interest as I'm taking B for his summer holibobs to Holkham the last week in June. Can't wait to get him in the water.

Just to let you we had a brilliant time. We were advised not to worry about tide times as the beach is so big that even at high tide you can still get on. From what we saw I'd say that's accurate.

Horses are also welcome at any time so there are no restrictions there either. I've heard the parking can get busy but there seemed to be plenty of space so I can't see that being a problem.

You seemed to either need £12 change or a card for parking but it didn't take the new £1 coins while we were there. And also there really are no facilities.

I hope you have as much fun as we did!!!

Thanks for the update and glad you had such a good time. Parking tips much appreciated, I shall raid my old one pound coin stash. We are going to ride part of the Pedders Way one day, then go to the beach the next and then decide whether to go back to the beach for the last day depending on how they feel.
