Riding Rudd Wellies

I only ride around once a month - just hacking out a friends horse, I need new riding boots and new wellies for walking the dog and thought these might do both jobs.

I know you’re not supposed to ride in wellies, but these are apparently riding wellies? Their Facebook page had great reviews, but would appreciate any thoughts??

I bought some at Burghley but have only just started to use them as my beloved le chameux only just gave up on being waterproof. My thoughts so far, they are a little narrower through the foot than most wellies I’ve tried so I get pins and needles in one foot (I have narrowish feet but obviously have one fatter foot as the other is fine!). I also find the ankle a bit too restrictive, I do flex my ankles a lot when riding, American equitation style, and get cramp/soreness in one ankle and calf. I’m hoping I get used to them! They are nice and grippy on surfaces despite having a riding safe tread and they are nice and warm. I do quite like them, and my left leg is happy with its boot, but my right leg and foot is not! (So a very unhelpful mixed review for you). If you have wide feet I probably wouldn’t bother.
 
That's a lot of money for what is basically a Hunter's. There are quite a range of wellies you can ride in. Personally I would want a lot more positive reviews before forking out that much. You could get a decent pair of wellies and a pair of riding boots separately for that.
 
I haven't ridden in mine that I bought at Badminton, but since the start of winter I have worn them everyday and use them for walking the dog. So far, so good, at least they haven't started to crack unlike the past two pairs of what were quite expensive wellies that hardly lasted 6 months. To start they seemed a bit narrow but I have got used to them now.
 
I tried a pair on and could instantly tell they were going to hurt my feet.
Really weird shape foot and also a bit narrow around the calf.
They are expensive for a new brand trying to get into the market - go for Aigle ISO Parcours instead if you have a good budget
 
As Rudds don't seem to be getting great reviews have a look at Muck Boots, they do a couple of riding wellies - Reign and Pacey. I have slightly wide feet and calves and find Muck Boots a good fit. A bit cheaper than Rudds too.
 
Thanks to all for your replies.

After thinking about it more, a separate welly and riding boot will be more practical, I can hopefully leave the riding boot at the yard.

I have narrow feet and slim calves. I will look at the suggestions here, but any others are welcomed too.
