£6000 a year.... No claims just my area. Anyone no how to cut this down. Can I get public liability £300 a year and all my riders get their own riders insurance £40 a year roughly each . I think e&l state that the riders insurance they do can't be used for a riding school! It's ridiculous ! My riders would all get there own insurance if a company offered it. Any ideas or help appreciated x

I'm not sure I'd ride somewhere that needed me to have my own insurance. What happens when someone comes to have their first ride with you and won't be sure if you'll suit them?

Have you had several quotes?

Have you checked out ABRS members scheme? Look on website. Of course you do need to be a member to benefit.

Any policy would have to include the possibility of a third party coming on the premises and having an accident or a horse escaping and causing an accident so it is essential to have insurance cover of no less than for instance £10,000,000 (Ten Million Pounds) in the event of a horse escaping and causing an accident.

I've had a riding school 11 years. I'm closing for a year to relocate. But going todo some serious changes when I reopen . My partner is in a kick boxing club and you've to pay a start up fee. It's a membership fee too which us really for insurance . Keep the ideas coming . Yes I've shopped around x

A local RS started out by leasing shares in the ponies to clients, it was a way of getting round the insurance as well as the licensing, they did go legit in the end. With so many people sharing now it could be an option to look into but may not be viable on a large scale.
