Riding school licences

It should be displayed somewhere, though this isn't always obvious! So yes, if you're in doubt contact the council yourself to ask for a list of their licencsed riding schools - DON'T say 'is blah blah licenced' unless you're setting out to report somebody.

If it's BHS approved then the licence will be in place as it'll have been seen as part of the routine inspections, presume same applies for ARBS.

Thanks, asking on behalf of a friend who's daughter is wanting to do work experience in conjunctin with a course at College.....Mum is decidedly unhorsey so is tending to take daughter's word as gospel...who obviously wants to go where her friends go!! (Not always the best idea!)

Why not just ask? I don't think any reputable yard would have a problem producing their license for a valid reason.

Just to clarify - does she want to go to the yard through the college or the yard is nothing to do with the college?

If it is through the college, the yard will have to have a valid license.

You can ask your local council or check the BHS website to see if it is BHS approved. If you know the name of the yard you could check on google also. Or just ask the yard :)
