Hi all, this is the first post i have ever made, so i am sorry for any mistakes in it.

can anyone tell me of a decent riding school, 20 miles of swindon, where they are good with nervous riders, i am just learning about riding a horse on a bit, and not really that interested in jumping.

thanks in advance

Ditto! Hulbert's Green. Although make them aware you are quite nervous so they can get you with a suitable instructor. Try a few if you need to - they're all very good but are obviously different in teaching style. The owner Janice is lovely, i got really nervous one lesson (having a weird episode!) and she was happy to put me on a more suitable horse and was very sympathetic.

Have fun!

Its defineatly the best one around. I have improved so much in the two years i've been there, more than in the 5 years i'd been riding before starting. I've fallen in love (jokes) with their amazing horses and ponies. They range from cheeky shetlands to talented throughbreds, but all of the horses are suitable for beginners. Janice is really nice & will place you on the most suitable horse for you. Its £20 for a group lesson for an hour, and completely worth the money.

£35 for an adult for 3/4 hour.

There's a few around Swindon. I should know i'm on my 4th! But Hulbert's is the better in my opinion.

They have a large range of horses of all types and temperaments. And have clear round jumping, have a go dressage, day courses, recently did BHS horse owner's certificate course, hacks, and competitions every now and then.

Yeah, i do clear round every holiday and its great fun (but im 14 and most people who go to it are my age, lol).

You should ride Robin if you're an adult/tall, hes the safest horse you'll ever meet, really kind and willing too

But its defineatly the best, it offers so much for all age ranges and everybody is so helpful and kind.

Agg! Another one to fight over Robin with! :p He's lovely.
Let us know how it goes n who you ride etc. You see people of all ages there (i'm 17) but they go from teeny tots right up to adults.
