Asking on behalf of a beginner friend as I don't live in the area. He could really do with some decent lunge lessons in order to improve his coordination and balance :D

The (very) basics are in place - can walk, trot, canter, confident over ground poles and hacking, position OK but he lacks security. The horse he rides here is not suitable for lunging so I think a good school horse and qualified instruction is needed in order for him to progress.

I think he'd be happy to travel a bit if it was worth it.

Would be very grateful for recommendations or places to avoid (PM if you prefer! ;))

Thanks :)

I had a lesson at Liege Manor recently and thought it was really good. They have great facilities (massive indoor and outdoor schools), the instruction was good and my horse was well-schooled, which I was impressed at because although it was my first lesson, so I was on a safe and steady horse just in case I couldn't ride when I'd said I could, she worked nicely.

Leige Manor would definitely be my recommendation.

Also, a good place fo hacing is Briwnant, near Roath. Had a really good 2hr ride from there!
