Riding Schools in Shropshire/Staffs

I've decided I definatly want to get back into riding properly and buy my own this summer, prodvided I get a job

I loaned for 4 years before I gave up a year ago for various reasons...mostly final year at uni + lack of funds. I ride occasionally at home but it's only ever a walk round the block as I'm riding with a nervous friend on her VERY ploddy heavies and I don't ride during term time.

but I've done a bit of reschooling/bringing on and could sit a very small, very whizzy pony before I gave up...only way I'd describe my ability is competent if a little nervous jumping bigger fences if I don't trust the horse. I don't want to be trying peoples horses and my riding being rusty as it won't give either of us a good idea of how well suited we are.

Sorry about the essay...the point....can anyone recomend a school in Shropshire around the Telford/Shrewbury/Stafford-ish area? I'm looking to just loose my rustyness but don't want to be sat on a 'riding school cob' being told to saw the poor mite in the mouth and boot it in the sides like I was last time I went to a RC round here

Ingestre Stables or Cannock Chase Trekking Centre if you fancy going over the chase?
Can't think off the top of my head where else nearby........
 
The one I can recommend (if it is still going and where I learnt to ride ) is the Wyke Equestrian Centre and they were 100% fab. They are based in Shifnal.

The other one but I have never used it but they hold a lot of dressage there is Kingswood Equestrian Centre and they are Albrighton/Wolverhampton area.
 
Have ridden at the Wyke before and liked it...will look into going back but last time I checked there was a waiting list which is never a bad sign.

My friend has been trying for a while to go to the Wyke and hasn't got in yet!
Kingswood was lovely but they are no longer a riding school, just a competition centre.
Prescott is probably the best bet, with indoor schools and all.
 
The Wyke is excellent; I have them to thank for my 'proper' seat, even if it felt like lessons were boring and strict as a child, lol!

Avoid the one just off Wenlock Edge. I won't go into why, just don't.

I learned to ride at the Wyke....it has, however changed quite a bit over the past few years - I don;t think there is a waiting list anymore.
There is also Kemberton Riding Stables nearby - recently opened, I was a livery there..somewhat less salubrious but I hear the instructor is good, but more the lower end of the market.
The Nedge Riding Stables does hacking only through the winter and their hacks are of a faster nature I believe, maybe they'd suit you better?
