My 3 & 7 year old daughters want to start riding lessons but I have found most of the riding schools in Bristol have been turned into livery yards, can anybody suggest a good riding school for them, we dont mind travelling?

Urchinwood's really nice - rode there when I was in Bristol (until March). They have an indoor school, outdoor, jumping paddock and XC course. About 30 minutes south of Bristol on A370.

Urchinwood is great. I'm taking the riding club there regularly next year plus they do all sorts of extra bits and bobs like side saddle. I wouldn't recomend tumpy green unfortunalty, the club has been there twice in the last two years and both ended up in accidents. Barton end has amazing hacking and is full of kids on a saturday so I'm assuming its good because we;ve not had any lessons there, if not a little expensive. If you don't mind going over the bridge (just) Severnvale is good
