I hate having hot feet, and bulky socks. I wear pop socks - usually from whichever supermarket has some in. Cheap as chips, buy in bulk.


And being a skinflint, they chop up to make good hair tyes, for me or the horse's tail ;)

The half tights ones are great in summer. Mine are Kingsland and I'm only on my third packet in over ten years.

My top tip for winter if your feet are 6 or bigger is M&S men's merino socks (they don't seem to do them for women), which are a great length, thin but decent warmth. Minus temperatures I add a second pair.

Uniqlo do merino socks for ladies think £12 for 2 pairs and they are lovely and warm

I wear normal everyday socks and riding tights and can't work out what I am missing out on?! What extra benefits do long riding socks give me?
