Riding stables near St Helens, Merseyside?

I'm off relative visiting for a few days in the vicinity of St Helens. My sister and I would like to go riding and also her little boy (who is 6) has been on about going riding for ages! So I am looking for somewhere that has nice hacking and can also provide a 1/2 hour private lesson for a youngster. Any recommendations?

I think cheshire equestrian centre for hacks (i think thats what its called)!

Eccleston park equestrian centre has a really good rep and Croxteth park in Liverpool is Bhs approved and is another good one, they're in the country park and do little hacks through there, but I actually can't think of any off the top of my head that have good hacking for more advanced riders....bowlers in formby does fast beach rides but that may be too far?
