Dressage is more judging how the horse goes. Whereas riding tests focus more closely on the rider and how the test is ridden, also you are not allowed spurs in a riding test. They are done at riding clubs, I've only ever done them at Area competitions to qualify for RC nationals.
How interesting....and is the turn out basically the same? I take it the test format will be the same? Where would you find the actual tests to download/buy?
Yep all the same as dressage just tried to find the test on BHS website but couldn't, if you look hard might if them on the site somewhere. Did find out the spurs are actually legal in riding tests.
Cool - thanks for the info. I'll poke round on there when I've got some time. One of the RCs is having these classes, but I never have thought to enter one, wouldn't have even thought to....
Just a note to say that spurs are now allowed in BRC RTs at both area & championships. Tests aren't officially online, but if you buy a copy of the Rulebook (your club will have had two sent to them) the tests are in the back.
