What are your views?
Oscar is being wormed on monday and then flu & tet jab the tuesday. On the wednesday we are going out somewhere and would pref want to ride him before.
When would you ride?
Obv, if it is a big no no to ride on both days, we wouldn't. Have never been in this situation before, so asking for opinions =]

Thanks

Don't worry about worming ride as normal it will not effect the horse unless there is a chance of a big worm burden.

Flu jabs are a little different and I do tend ride but just gently afterwards for at least 3 days. Vets say not to worry with the modern jabs but I always err on the cautious side.

OK thanks a lot

My instinct would be not to ride immediately after worming or the vacs but I see no reason why you shouldn't ride before if you have time to let him cool down before the vet comes.

That said I wasn't thinking last time I wormed Daisy and I took her straight out for a hack. She was fine. When I got back I checked the worming leaflet because I was worried that it was the wrong thing to have done but it didn't say anything about it so i assume there isn't a real problem with it

Absolutey no reason not to ride, just don't overdo it after the vacs.

I worm when we get back from a ride and I give her the day off when she has had her vaccs or ride before the vet gets there and make sure she is cooled off prior to the jabs
