Hi all,

I'm just starting to replace my basic riding kit as I'm getting back into riding (see my other thread)

I always had issues with jodpurs being tall

I was wondering about riding tights?

Ive been looking at the Dublin Performance Cool It Mesh Flex Tights.

Does anyone own them? Are they any good? Or are there better brands?

Thanks

Arion. Not at all pricey, and great quality. Some fantastic colours too.

Arion Navy. They have sticky grips on the knees & a nice rise on the waist & go from £17 - £25.

I am tall too (6ft) and have just bought 2 pairs of the Noble tights - a pair of the balance tights and a pair of the full seat sticky bum ones. I love them, they are so comfy and the phone pocket is really handy. I am a size 10/12 and went with medium. The small fit also but were tighter round the waist (quite high waisted) so went with the medium which fit perfectly!

I'm tall and slim and wear FITS tights however they are very expensive (£160). I think they're worth every penny - so comfortable and fantastic grip due to the leather patches. They do last very well.

They may be pricey but I love my Kingsland ones.

Be careful with the Dublin Cool It tights as the sticky bum print is also in the inner seam and resulted in some rather nasty friction burns when I went for a 2 hour hack in them. It hasn't happened since, but was blooming painful at the time and has made me a little reluctant to wear them these days.

Another vote for Noble Outfitters. I find their sizing a bit smaller than true size, but they are comfy and I live in mine. Don’t rate Noble Outfitters as a company though, not massively helpful in my experience and they NEVER have a sale on.

Well, that sounds unpleasant! :O

I've got the Dublin Cool It Mesh. They are comfortable to wear, nice wide waistband and very cool in warm weather.

I don't like riding in them, though. The gel provides way too much stick and I found I slide around inside them as they are quite shiny/slippery fabric.

I also wouldn't be wearing them as the weather cools down!

Oh lots of votes for nobal outfitters.

I will be riding in a lot in warmer weather hence way I was attracted to the Dublin Cool it mesh but I certainly don't want friction burns and I will be aiming for much longer than a couple of hours in the saddle!

Ok so maybe buy one pair of the Nobal ones and keep looking for a different style of warm / hot weather tights.

I did wonder about the Silicon, you know the socks with silicon on the soles I find them so irritating! So I wondered if the same thing would happen with a silicon seat.

I'll keep looking then.

Kingsland for me, I tried Horze, Noble outfitters, Dublin, Aztec Diamond, horseware and they were defo the best if you have wobbly lumpy bits and don't want a camel toe :D Aztec diamond were a good second but the Kingsland ones are just fab and I managed to bag a pair half price

I love the Noble Outfitters stuff and being a lot bigger than I used to be, I was pleasantly surprised that they do a wide range of sizes. Their balanced riding tights aren't too thick so I would think be fine for warmer weather.

I like the horseware ones, I've got two pairs now. I tried the noble ones but they're the wrong shape for me - they seem to be small on the waist and bigger on the hips.
