I'm loosing weight (its stalled slightly but still going - current weight loss 20lb), I have another 28lb to go until I will be "happy". I carry my weight on my stomach and middle (under my chest area!) and its awful. I don't look too bad standing up its when I sit (or ride). Can anyone recommend any nice tops that aren't clingy but I will look half smart in?

I'm sick of wearing giant t-shirts that make me look even bigger than I am or normal size ones that show off my rolls :(

I'm thinking there probably isn't such a thing and I need to stick to oversize mens ones until I finish loosing the weight.

Have you checked out the Regatta stuff? I buy their T-shirts that are like a wicking material and their lightweight long sleeve tops that have a zip at the neck. Really smart, lightweight for summer but great for layering in winter. Cheap aswell, but wash really well. I buy them from a local Charlie’s store and they are about £9.99 a top. Lovely colours too.

Ah no haven't looked at those, will see what I can find. I have tried Sports Direct but they come up "small" and even the biggest size is clingy for me :(

Not sure if this will be the right size but I’ve just got some lovely cool polo shirts from amazon - uneek ultra cool ladies polo shirt. Polyester but it’s really comfy, cool, a nice shape without being too clingy, and lovely bright colours. Perfect for a matchy fan. 6.99 plus delivery.

If you prefer something baggier, RTXtra men’s polo shirts are nice and roomy and last forever. My favourite one has lasted me about 15 years! Just got some new ones from eBay.

Your situation and mine are almost identical. I've lost 32lbs so far with another 24 (at least, will see how I feel when I get there) to go. I also carry weight in exactly the same place. I've found wearing the right jods / riding tights makes a big difference as so many roll or fall down and create unsightly rolls and lines. Flexars riding tights are absolutely fab - they come right up to your boobs and stay there so give you a lovely smooth line under tops.

I also wear a long tight vest under my tops for two reasons. First, it's more flattering as it looks like the outer layer is loose and you have a much slimmer body underneath that the vest is hugging (especially if, like me, your hips, bum and thighs aren't too bad) and second it also means that if you don't have great jods on and they do work their way down a bit, or your top work its way up, you avoid flashing your flabby tummy at the world. (I also do this for running as I've yet to find a pair of running leggings that will stay put.)

For the top layer I wear gym / running tops. Some are from Mountain Warehouse but I have one or two from Lidl that are just as good. They're not too warm, are loose enough not to cling terribly but not so baggy that you look like a sack of spuds. This sort of thing - in fact this is my favourite of the ones I have. https://www.mountainwarehouse.com/isocool-dynamic-panna-womens-loose-tee-p16216.aspx/grey/ .

That's such a good idea about the tight vest underneath, I do get so hot though I worry I might overheat. Do you have any of those you use in particular? I think I have been using tops that are too big!

I have some from M&S (they normally do a 4 for 3 deal) but most of them are from Primark - except Primark calls them dresses! I can't imagine anyone wearing them as dresses unless they're a size 8, 4'10" and 16 years old though o_O
With the sports tops on top, you don't get too hot as they're really breathable.

I think I've talked about this too much on here in the past as I've started getting adverts for layered effect tops from the Freeman's catalogue on Facebook. I have no idea what they're like but they would give the same look but without the extra layer and might be worth a try?

I don’t buy riding tops anymore I just buy tops from Asda or Sainsbury’s. Some are sports tops some are just summer tops you could wear at anytime. Cheap and cheerful.
