I am looking to go on a riding holiday in the UK (don't mind where - happy to consider Scotland as well) - I am a very advanced rider but without my own horse. Any suggestions on places that can provide great riding, instruction and horses?

I want it to be proper training rather than a relaxing holiday, and would prefer to do a bit of everything - dressage, show jumping and cross country.

Would be extremely grateful for any suggestions!

Have you considered Talland or Yorkshire Riding Center they are the only ones that spring to mind with the level you want to compete at.

Thank you Ship! I was aware of the YRC but not of Talland - had a look on their website and it looks really good indeed. I am not English so not that on the ball with UK riding centres - but even I have heard of Molly Sivewright! Thanks for your help.

I went to the YRC a few years ago and it was brilliant, really nice horses and lovely setting - very pretty - and lovely food if you do that option! I would thoroughly recommend it!!

Cornish Riding Holidays do individual packages for adult riders I'm pretty sure of it... they have an XC course for various levels and the tuition is great- I ride up there weekly! Plus you've got great scenery as it's in Cornwall.

Google their name for the website.

I've just spent 3 days at the Yorkshire Riding Centre last week. I went with a friend and we took our own horses but I also had a couple of lessons on school horses to work on me. I thought it was fantastic; the standard of tuition was really high and there were loads of opportunities to watch really top people having lessons (eg Anna Warnecke lesson with Chris Bartle). We didn't stay so don't know what the accommodation is like, but I would thoroughly recommend...
