So we finally did it....Saturday first time up ever , after my broken shoulder, fractured knee, broken ankle etc etc etc and him coming back from his casting and all the injuries..ruddy horrific time but hey ho.
He was a dream light to the touch, calm (despite the mare he is sharing a paddock with charging up and down screaming at him!) and very comfortable.
Pics were taken on Sunday....started off on the lunge just to get comfortable and at ease....then off on my own....only walking at mo to ease both him and me in very gently..His leg is fine not in the slightest unsound....well apart from when we went to go for a walk outside the school and doofus promptly managed to get a sharp stick stuck in his wound prompting him standing on 3 legs and me having to make a rather ungainly dismount...however he stayed totally unflapped allowing me to get off pull out the aforesaid stick at which point he realised he was not dying and walked off normally (rolling eyes smiley anyone!)
So in my year off every riding muscle I have ever had has turned to flab
and I am now starting to ache like hell and looking at these pics I have some way to go with the weight loss.... ahem BUT we have done it I am actually riding my horse give us 6 months to both get totally fit and we will get the beach pics up
On Saturday we ride outside for the first time
And finally going it alone;
Apologies for the pics OH is not exactly David Bailey
