Riding with a broken little finger... Anyone done it?

I broke both bones in my lower arm and was in the lead in a RC jumping league, I continued to jump each week with my cast on and won the league!! This was 15 years ago when health & safely was prob much more lenient. I tend not to go to a&e unless I'm really suffering, have recently had a suspected broken finger & thumb and continued to ride

My daughter trapped her middle finger in a big oak stable door nearly chopped the tip off and broke the bone this was on the Saturday evening she had an op the next day to fix the tip was back on by the Thursday. Competing Sj a few weeks later and 4 weeks later winning on a pony we had got 4 weeks before the accident.
She's 10. She didn't jump for a bit though as she was more worried about bending to rode with that finger straight for a bit. It had a banage on though and she wore my gloves over the top.
She broke her collar bone last year she had 2 weeks off riding then was back on and competing 4 weeks later.

When I broke my arm the doctor had to leave it in a sling instead of a cast (can't remember why, it was a few years ago now) I saw it as a chance to teach my pony to neckrein.....

If she were an adult, I'd let her decide. However, she isn't, and as her parent you have to make those responsible decisions. In this instance, I would err on the side of caution.

My mare snapped my little finger in half a few years ago and I still rode, however it was pretty painful using the reins and my mare is extremely sensitive mouthed so no pulling etc. If she had been a puller or strong then there would have been no way I could have ridden, it would have been far too painful, plus it probably would have affected the healing process.

I had a broken little finger (horse trod on my hand) I continued to ride and had two fingers strapped together. Didn't cause me any problems, but I was hacking out only, not doing jumping or PC comps etc, would be very painful if the horse stopped and you knocked your hand- I will say that my finger never healed very well, the knuckle still gets 'stuck' sometimes and the finger is very obviously bent! This is years after I broke it.
