I know someone whos niece has weekly lessons, she wears a hearing aid and it is fine in walk but anything else it sometimes pops off, the instructor suggested cutting into the lining of her hat so there is sort of a space for it but she doesn't want to ruin the hat if it then doesn't work.

Anyone have any experience with riding with a hearing aid?

Sorry I can't help, but wondering whether it may be worth chatting to someone at your local RDA branch as they may have experience of it. It's a long time ago (20 plus years)now but when I used to help out at my local branch some of the riders were deaf (as well as having other disabilities) so it might just be worth asking.

I had a phonic ear when I learnt to ride, they also clipped on to the post aural aids-as I got faster and then jumped I took the hearing aids off as they would not stay in place. My instructor came over to me and I read lips then off I galloped!

Contact the NDCS as there are new things on the market since I learnt to ride! But anything post aural does tend to wobble off!
