Riding With Mud Fever

Today I found that my horse has mud fever on her back two legs.
It isnt that bad, she isn't lame or anything and it just looks like mud and you cant see any of the scabs, you can just feel them so I think I've found it quite early.However when you feel them there are loads of bumps from the scabs and I'm treating it but I was wondering if it is okay to ride her?

The place where I ride are the fields and they are a bit wet but I was going to cake her legs in Johnson Oil before it to stop the moisture getting in, is that okay?

Wash them in hibiscrub, dry them, apply some cream like betadine or sudacream and then put on oil. The causitive agent is anaerobic, so it will thrive under oil if you don;t clean the legs and then get all the scabs picked off. After the initial washing and picking you should keep the legs as dry as possible. Riding should not be a problem if she is sound, but maybe bandages to keep the legs dry?
